Nelson Santos Painting & Decorating is a Watford-based team providing painting, decorating and property improvements across Bushey, Hertfordshire and North West London. We’re known for careful preparation, tidy workmanship and clear communication from the first visit to the final handover.
The trade runs in the family: Nelson has over 15 years’ experience, and his dad has spent nearly 40 years in construction. Much of our work comes from repeat clients and recommendations.

Can you quote from photos?
Yes. Photos or videos can often help us give you an initial estimate. For larger or more detailed jobs, we may arrange a visit before providing the final quote.
Do you supply the paint and materials?
Yes, we can supply the paint and materials and recommend the right products for each surface. If you already have a brand or colour in mind, just let us know.
Will you move and protect my furniture?
Yes. We move and cover furniture where possible, protect floors and surrounding areas before we start, and keep the work area clean and tidy throughout the job.
How do you prepare fresh plaster?
New plaster needs to dry out fully first. We then apply a mist coat so the finish coats bond properly and don’t flake or peel later.
Can you remove old wallpaper and line walls?
Yes. We strip old paper, repair and prepare the walls, and can hang lining paper to give a smooth base for paint or new wallpaper.
How long will my job take?
It depends on the size of the space and how much preparation is needed. We’ll give you a clear timeframe with your quote and keep you updated as the work progresses.
Do you work on commercial properties?
Yes. We decorate offices, restaurants, schools, halls, shops and other commercial premises, and plan the work with you to keep disruption to a minimum.
Are you insured and DBS checked?
Yes. We’re fully insured and DBS checked, so you can have us working in your home, school or business with complete peace of mind.
